WARLI: An Artists’ Exchange

The distinctive paintings of the Warli tribe, in India’s Maharashtra state, were traditionally created by women on the walls of their homes for events such as weddings and festivals. But in recent decades Warli artists have begun painting on paper and cotton, and their work has been exhibited in prestigious galleries in India and overseas. A Fine Line, an arts agency based in Manchester that has worked closely with Warli artists, commissioned Singular to create a beautiful book to accompany an exhibition of Warli painting at the V&A Museum of Childhood.
