A Vision of England
In 2012 the Colman Art Galleries at Norwich Castle Museum & Art Gallery were refurbished. The galleries are home to a wonderful collection of works by the painters of the Norwich School, and the temporary closure gave scholars and conservators the opportunity not only to clean and reglaze the paintings, but to examine them closely (using x-rays, infrared imaging, ultraviolet light and microscopy, for example) and re-evaluate their significance. In A Vision of England, a 72-page softback, eleven essayists reveal the methods, the inspiration and the artistic vision of the leading artists of the Norwich School.
